Tom Mason & the Blue Buccaneers

From 2019-2022, I was the fiddler and first mate for Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers! (videos below). They were a merry band of Nashville musicians who dressed like pirates and played a rollicking mix of piratical sing-alongs, rousing historical rave-ups, afro-cuban tinged ballads, Cajun sea shanties, and bluesy Irish jigs, celebrating the days when the seas were ruled by great sailing ships. They performed around the world and released many albums. I played on the last album, “Sail Again,” where my fiddling roots were featured in a song inspired by me (“Fiddle Full of Fire”) and I co-wrote/sang “Hornigold.” My favorite performances were at Pilgrimage Music Festival, the Minnesota State Fair, Tall Ships festivals around the Great Lakes, and pirate festivals in florida.
