From 2019-2022, I was the fiddler and first mate for Tom Mason and the Blue Buccaneers! (Check out the videos below!). They’re a merry band of Nashville musicians who dress like pirates and play a rollicking mix of piratical sing-alongs, rousing historical rave-ups, afro-cuban tinged ballads, Cajun sea shanties, and bluesy Irish jigs, celebrating the days when the seas were ruled by great sailing ships. They offer family-friendly entertainment, sometimes playing a family stage early and a late night set for adults. They’ve played festivals in Australia, the United Kingdom, Norway, and the United States and have just released their fifth album “If You Want to be a Pirate.”
Past performances include Port Fairy Folk Festival (AUS), Beverley Folk Fest, Filey Folk Fest, Dart Fest, Boomtown Fair (UK), Pilgrimage Festival, Bluegrass Underground, Minnesota State Fair, Tall Ships festivals in Galveston, Pensacola, Cleveland, Erie, Bay City, Duluth, and Norway, and pirate festivals in the USA and England.
